Topaz IMPERIAL 9 Golden Orange Crystals Ouro Preto Brazil

9 crystals varying in size from 7x5x3 mm up to 10x5x3 mm …all have terminations… check photos closely to see…they are either the pyramidal topaz terminations or many tiny points that happen when a piece break off and over time heals itself.
The coin in the photos is a US copper penny – 0.75 inches (19.05 mm).

Lot of 9 Natural Golden Orange IMPERIAL Topaz Crystals Vintage from Ouro Preto, Brazil

The photos are of the stones offered here (lot 29). View them in ZOOM to get a better idea of how they really look. The pics were taken in ambient afternoon sunshine or indoor incandescent light. The colors range from clear to champagne to yellow to golden orange to pink.

The Schiller effect, that causes shimmer and rainbows in the stones is best highlighted in incandescent light because it deepens the golden yellow. This is due to the play of light off the inclusions found in imperial topaz from the Ouro Preto mine in Brazil. I got this parcel in 1989.
