The Further Shore: A Darshan Diary by Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh is also known as Osho. The book offers a fascinating glimpse into Osho’s teachings. He was of one of the most controversial spiritual leaders of the 20th century. It is a collection of talks and dialogues that took place during Rajneesh’s daily darshans, or spiritual gatherings, in the late 1970s.

Rajneesh addresses a wide range of topics, including love, meditation, awareness, and the nature of reality. His insights and teachings offer a powerful and transformative message. It is as relevant today as it was when he first spoke these words.

This book is the twentieth in the Rajneesh foundation’s darshan diary series. It is compiled from the period of June 1st through June 31st, 1977.  It records some of the month-long accounts of the meetings between master and disciple. In these darshans, Bhagwan meets prospective disciples. He gives them their mala (beads necklace with locket).  They receive a new name, and an explanation of what that name means.

It is a very special time for everyone present, but for the new disciple, it is a momentous experience that is never forgotten.

Those of us who attended the 3rd World Celebration, July 1984, in the new ashram in Eastern Oregon, called Rajneeshpuram received a diary as a gift. This was the volume I received.
