Sapphire Fancy Cut Cabochons 29 pcs. 11.60 cts

This is a parcel of natural fancy sapphire cabochon gemstones (SA-6). I got these beautiful sapphires in the late 80’s. They were cut in Bangkok.

These photos show the 29 gemstones in this lot, with a total carat weight of 11.60 cts. The photos were taken in natural sunlight. The coin in the photos is a US dime (10 cents) and is 17.9mm in diameter.

They are mostly round and oval with 3 pink teardrop shapes. You can see the shapes clearly in the photos. They are not calibrated, so sizes are approximate.  The smallest is a bright red 2mm rd. The 6x5mm light blue oval weighing .85ct, and the 6x5mm teardrop weighing 1.05 carat are the largest.

As you can see in the photos, they are bright and shiny, showing the color zoning and inclusions one expects to see in sapphire cabs… Sapphire is the birthstone for September.
