Ruby corundum crystals in matrix from Mysore, India.

This ruby crystal in matrix specimen (MR-11) is from Mysore, India… The photos display the specimen from different angles and are taken in bright light, and the last two under UV light to show the rubies’ fluorescense.

The specimen weight is 88 gm. (3.1oz)
Dimensions: approx. 2.75″ length x 1.25″ high x 1.75″ deep

The ruby crystals are in matrix – the specimen pretty much lays flat with just a few small rubies around the one large one… The crystals are deep reddish purple, opaque, and translucent against the light. This is typical for the Mysore rubies.
