This is a parcel of 14 Mozambique Garnet Round Oval Marquis Pear … Deep Purple/Red, they are often referred to as Rhodolite garnet in the trade because of their purple hue. I got these in the 1980’s … These photos show the 14 gemstones in this lot, with a total carat weight of 54.0 cts. Deep, rich and evenly colored… these garnets are beautiful.

Garnet is the January birthstone.

Color: Dark red-purple

These stones are old Indian cut – Not precisely calibrated – the cutting was more based on the shape, reflectivity and color of the stone itself. They are unique, with gorgeous color, and well suited to the artist creating one-of-a-kind pieces.
