In 1952, Schweitzer was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his philosophy of ‘Reverence for Life’, which he used the prize money to expand his hospital in Gabon. Albert Schweitzer passed away in 1965, but his legacy of compassionate care and humanitarian service continues to inspire people worldwide.
